Banned Book Week October 1st-7th, 2023 The first week of October is national Banned Book Week! Having access to books and information is important to the mission of libraries. We will be having banned books on display all week and we encourage patrons to take action against the book banning that is happening across the country.
Banned Book Club Thursday, October 19th 7:00pm Join us for Banned Book Club on Thursday, October 19th at 7:00pm to discuss any books off of our list of Halloween-themed banned books. Contact the library for the list of books, or choose your own banned book to read! All are welcome!
Footstomp To Go Friday, October 20th Serving starts at 6:00pm Come out to our October footstomp at the library! We will be serving your choice of soup, salad, and dessert, all for just $10 per dinner. Please call the library at 814-887-9262 or stop in by Wednesday, October 18th to order your meal.
Children's Story Hour Every Wednesday 10:00am-11:00am Come visit for our weekly children's story hour! Children of all ages are welcome, but this program is catered to preschool age children. Come hang out with us at the library, listen to a few stories, and maybe even do some arts and crafts!
Quilt Raffle Benefits Hamlin Memorial Library Enter to win a beautiful king size quilt made by the Smethport Piecemakers Quilt Guild! Tickets are $2.00 each, and will be sold until the winner is drawn at 2:30pm on Saturday, December 9th. Stop in to the library or see a library board member to buy your tickets!
Library Card Sign-Up Month September Come in and open up a library card during the month of September and be entered to win a prize! There will be one prize for children and one for adults. Prizes to be announced at a later date. Must open a NEW library card to be entered.
